How You Can Pray

Hello, everyone.  I'm just popping by to ask for a bit of prayer.  Things have been quite intense around here this May.  At the start of the month I returned from a women's retreat sun scorched and miserable. Two weeks later I am still blistered up in a couple of places. Don't pity me.  I am likely to blame for it.

Some of you know that Scott is leaving for Uganda this weekend.  His flight departs Sunday from Atlanta.  It is always a whirlwind getting prepared for these trips.  The hardest thing isn't necessarily getting ready to go, but preparing to leave everything behind.  This time around process has been further complicated by illness. Vivian has been down with some sort of vicious virus all week.

Remarkably this is the first time she has truly been sick in her four years of life.  There were touches of illness here and there, but never anything that kept her from being her usual self.  It has been so odd and heartbreaking to see her scrunched up on the couch hour after hour, unable to get comfortable, whimpering in pain. This morning she looked up at me with bloodshot eyes and said, "I wish I could feel better."  It is horrible to watch your child suffer.

Scott and I are run down from being up in the night with her.  Two nights ago Scott slept part of the night on her bedroom floor so that she wouldn't be afraid.  All that being said, we would appreciate your prayers!

Please pray for healing for Vivian and protection for Scott's health as he heads into this important trip.
